In 2015 at 19 she debuted her single here. It went down a storm and was praised by critics and listeners alike. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. This year she released her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which reached the top of Billboard charts, including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special as it was inspired by her interview with Rap-Up, many people were inspired by her story through self-doubt and discovering how to love herself. Cara's music is known for its messages of kindness, self-love and mental health. All of it is a result of her personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems as well as insomnia. In a recent interview with Reuters the singer said that her album was "half tumultuous" and "half done". Therapy helped her grow and she encourages others to seek treatment if they need it. Alessia Cara, a Canadian performer, was born in Canada the 11th of July, 1996 to Italian descent parents. Her first guitar was given to her by her parents after she was 10 years old and it ignited her interest in music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she loved on YouTube to prove to the public that she had the talent to be a singer and determined to pursue the career of a musician. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
